On November 9, 2016, FLI's Equal Opportunities Officer Dr. Kerstin Wagner and Administrative Director Dr. Daniele Barthel received - for the second time - the Total E-Quality Award with the Add-on "Diversity" in a celebration hour in Nuremberg.
After 2013, the certificate was awarded to the FLI already for the second time. Granted by the TOTAL E-QUALITY Germany e.V., the prize honors organizations and institutions which engage for equal opportunities and family-work-balance in an excellent manner. The Jury acknowledged the high equalization standards which have been installed at the FLI during the last years. In addition, the TEQ certificate was awarded with the Add-on "Diversity" in recognition of the several measures at the Institute to integrate different cultural backgrounds. Almost half of FLI's scientists come from abroad, bringing expertise, experiences and cultural background from more than 30 different nations to the Institute.
Not only did the FLI receive the award, but the IPHT and HKI as well - thus recognizing the equal opportunities policies of all three Leibniz Institutes in Jena.
