A crowded lecture hall in the Abbe Center (Beutenberg-Campus) listened to Dr. Henning Scherf's speech on "Ich freue mich auf mein Altersleben", which was certainly a lecture highlight at the Beutenberg-Campus. Opened by Dr. Albrecht Schröter, Mayor of Jena, and Prof. K. Lenhard Rudolph, Scientific Director at the FLI, aging was talked about something natural which has to be faced with creativity, activity and personal engagement.
The event with guest appearance of Wolfgang Tiefensee, Thuringian Minister for Economy, Science and Digital Society and political friend of Scherf, kicked-off the public lecture series "Science & Society", adding a social perspective to the aging research in Jena. The series is organized by the Leibniz Institute on Aging (FLI) and the Leibniz Research Alliance Healthy Ageing and supported by Beutenberg Campus.
