On June 27th 2012, Generations Day took place in Jena with many events and activities, to bring together old and young and to encourage them to play and talk.
There was a big crowd around the grounds of the KuBuS, the multifunctional centre for culture, motion and exercise in Lobeda West.
After a small concert of the junior choir of the Schott-Gymnasium, the numerous small and tall guests tried and tested many games and activities. Besides rope skipping, ball games, line dance and an exercise course for wheel chair and wheeled walkers, visitors had the opportunity to visit the stall of the Leibniz Institute for Age Research - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI). A memory game on the topic of age research and several age simulations could be tried and with the help of an age simulation suit, people could experience what it is like to be old and bodily functions decrease.
