On June 4th 2013, a Parliamentary Evening on the subject "Gesundheit im demografischen Wandel (Health within the demographic change)” takes place in the atrium of the Leibniz Association’s head office.

Rapid progress and development in medicine have resulted in a distinct increase of the percentage of older people in the population within the last 100 years. But still severe and chronic illnesses increasingly occur during old age, so that few people can enjoy their last stage of life completely healthy and independently. The higher percentage of old people in society also poses societal and economic problems. Therefor new, effective and feasible approaches for a healthy life in old age are searched for.

How can the demographic changed be financed? How can we succeed in ageing healthily? What intervention and adjustment strategies can be developed for a healthy ageing process? These and other questions will be discussed during the Parliamentary evening with Leibniz scientists and guests. Professor Rudolph is a guest in the podium discussion on the topic "Gesundheit im demografischen Wandel (Health within the demographic change)”. In addition FLI will present selected scientific exhibits.
