Leibniz President visits FLI

On July 2, the President of the Leibniz Association, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Kleiner, visited the Leibniz Institute on Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI).

During his visit, President Kleiner informed himself of current research results and developments at the Institute. For example, he was interested in the scientific exchange about aging research in Jena and the use of new model organisms in aging research. With the group leaders of the Institute, he talked about current research foci and different research projects at the FLI.

Special attention was paid to the support of young scientists at the Institute, which the President of the Leibniz Association emphasized in his personal exchange with young scientists and in his speech to the Institute's staff. Prof. Kleiner also spoke about the future of the Leibniz Association and commended the FLI for its excellent research as well as the broad networking with other cooperation partners of university and non-university institutions in Jena.
