During the DFG's (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft; German Research Foundation) General Assembly in Saarbrücken on June 28, Prof. Dr. Christoph Englert, Research Group Leader at the Leibniz Institute on Aging - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) in Jena and Professor of Molecular Genetics at FSU Jena, was elected to the DFG Senate for a second term.
In total, the DFG Senate has 39 members. It is responsible for all major decisions in research funding prior to the actual funding decision as well as for shaping the review, evaluation and decision-making process. The term of office of the elected Senate representatives is three years.
