Science & Society
Words such as "challenges" or "difficulties" are often linked to the phenomenon of our aging society. But why does the lifespan continually increase? What does this mean for society and economics? What opportunities does the demographic change offer?
With the public lecture series "Science & Society", the Leibniz Institute on Aging (FLI) and the Leibniz Research Alliance Healthy Ageing together with the Beutenberg-Campus e.V. want to add a social perspective to the aging research in Jena.
-----------------------------------
We are pleased to welcome the Viennese architect & urban researcher Dr. Christiane Feuerstein as the next speaker of our public lecture series "Science & Society".
The Covid-19 pandemic has brought many aspects of care back into the (public) spotlight.
This also applies to the topic of housing, where caring for oneself and others follows on from a long tradition of looking after oneself and others and managing the home. As a result of sociodemographic and socioeconomic change, both the organization of household activities and the way in which relationships are lived are currently changing.
The home is becoming more and more important again as a central place of residence for all generations.
Christiane Feuerstein is an architect and urban researcher. She works on projects, publications, lectures and exhibitions on topics of living, urban renewal, neighborhood planning and the consequences of socio-demographic change for architecture and urban planning. She is also involved in teaching at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and FH Joanneum Graz.
The lecture "Sorgetragen im Wohnen" from an architectural-historical perspective how living and caring in the whole house were closely linked socio-spatially, later distanced from each other and today increasingly come together again. In the upcoming public "Science & Society" lecture these and other aspects of living will be discussed in more detail and new living concepts will be presented.
These and other aspects of living will be discussed in more detail in the next lecture event of the public lecture series "Science & Society" and also new living concepts will be presented.
