SKATinG, a project of the Society of friends and promoters of the TU Ilmenau designed to help students of Gymnasiums to decide on their professional future, held a three-day “Academic Internship” in Jena this week for students of grade 11. Eight students of Mellingen’s Gymnasium visited the Leibniz Institute for Age Research - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) on July 4th 2012 as part of this event.

Eight students of Mellingen’s Gymnasium visited the Leibniz Institute for Age Research - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) on July 4th 2012 as part of this event.



Apart from a short introduction into age research and information concerning current research topics at the institute, the boys and girls had the opportunity to watch zebra fish in different development stages under the microscope and learn about dyeing techniques in a histology course. Furthermore training opportunities at FLI were presented.
