Science & Society
Words such as "challenges" or "difficulties" are often linked to the phenomenon of our aging society. But why does the lifespan continually increase? What does this mean for society and economics? What opportunities does the demographic change offer?
With the public lecture series "Science & Society", the Leibniz Institute on Aging (FLI) and the Beutenberg-Campus e.V. want to add a social perspective to the aging research in Jena.
-----------------------------------
We are very pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Harald Künemund as the next speaker in our public lecture series "Science & Society". He will talk about "Age & Age limits" (Alter(n) & Altersgrenzen).
Prof. Künemund has been a professor of Empirical Aging Research and Research Methods at the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Vechta since 2006. In his lecture, he addresses the concepts of age and aging and their societal significance.
Age limits are critically examined and considered in terms of their functions. Additionally, an alternative life course model is presented, which allows for flexible transitions between education, work, and retirement, offering new perspectives on how to handle demographic change.
