In March 2018, Prof. Dr. Alfred Norheim was appointed Scientific Director of the Leibniz Institute on Aging (FLI). The Professor on Molecular Biology at University Tübingen will guide the Institute in scientific aspects during the coming years.
These upcoming years will bring the installment of an additional research program at FLI: Supported with an additional funding of EUR 5 million, which was awarded by the GWK (Joint Science Conference) to the FLI in March 2018, research groups on "Microbiome and Aging" will be built up at the Institute.
