Successful exchange at the 4th German p53 Workshop in Jena

News

From January 13-14, 2025, the 4th German p53 Workshop was held at the Leibniz Institute on Aging - Fritz Lipmann Institute e.V. (FLI) in Jena.

The event, organized by Dr. Martin Fischer, brought together experts from across Germany to discuss the latest findings and advances in p53 research. p53 is an important tumor suppressor that, in many cancer cells, no longer functions properly. Normally, p53 plays a crucial role in preventing tumor growth by either repairing damaged cells or inducing their self-destruction, thus preventing the development of cancer.

The workshop provided an excellent platform for exchanging new insights in this field. Through numerous presentations and discussions, current research questions were addressed, and innovative approaches to cancer therapy and the targeted modulation of p53 activity were explored. Participants not only gained the latest scientific knowledge but also had the opportunity to build valuable networks.

Special thanks go to the speakers and workshop participants for their contributions to this inspiring exchange, fueled by their expertise and enthusiasm. It was a successful event that will further strengthen collaboration in p53 research.
